Security procedures

Durango-La Plata County Airport arrivals are subject to TSA security procedures. Security procedures for visitors at DRO Country airport are similar to departures. All passengers arriving at DRO airport are required to go through the body scanner; their baggage is also scanned for safety reasons. Transportation security administration is intended to remove all the dangerous and prohibited items from the airport and the passenger's carry-on.

To fly within the United States, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need, state-issued enhanced driver's license, a REAL ID-compliant driver's license.

Passengers sometimes are required to go through the additional screening, and they also are presented to border protection and answer CBP agent's questions.

After security checkpoint and clearance, passengers are invited to claim their baggage.
